International Women’s Day 2021

Every woman needs a great professional headshot. In celebration of International Women’s Day 2021, Wildtype Media opened its studio for two days to offer complimentary professional headshots for 50 women from all walks of life—fresh graduates, freelancers, jobseekers, PMETs and mid-career professionals. To complete the experience, we partnered with MAC Cosmetics and Style Theory to provide makeovers and wardrobe selections for the shoot.

The photoshoot received 400 nominations nationwide. “Not only do we hope to inspire women to take that first step in self-love, we also hope to develop a positive culture where women support and empower one another.” —Dr. Juliana Chan, CEO of Wildtype Media.

Asian Scientist Lab Tech of the Year 2019

Laboratory technicians (lab techs) play a vital role in our scientific ecosystem. However, despite their contributions, most lab techs remain invisible to all but their immediate colleagues. To celebrate and highlight these unsung heroes, Wildtype Media set up the Asian Scientist Lab Tech of the Year, under its media arm, Asian Scientist Magazine.

With support from Abcam, the inaugural edition received over 216 participating lab techs and principal investigators. 10 winners were announced at the prize giving ceremony with Guest of Honor Sir David Lane, Former Chief Scientist of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).

Celebrating Our Healthcare Heroes

Celebrating Our Healthcare Heroes recognizes the contributions of our healthcare workers and scientists during the pandemic. The non-profit competition offers our youth a platform to express their experiences and hopes for a post-COVID world.

With support from our partners, Killiney Kopitiam, Invictus International School and the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, the competition ran for 12 weeks and received a total of 1,029 entries.

200 artworks were exhibited at the ION Art Gallery in the commemorative event, Heroes of Our Time, organized by Singapore’s National Healthcare Group. Attendees to the exhibition include Singapore’s Senior Minister of State Dr. Janil Puthucheary, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Madam Ho Ching, former CEO and executive director of Temasek Holdings.

21 artworks were selected to be featured in a commemorative children’s book supported by the Tanoto Foundation and Singapore’s National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
